School Travel Plan
Among the groups affiliated with the school is the Transport Working Party. This small group of volunteers has been meeting monthly to investigate potential improvements to transport habits. They have prepared a School Travel Plan in line with LA requirements. This sets out time-related targets, such as a request for funding, which has been successful and a review of routes to school, which is on-going.
Parents and children are kept informed of the group’s progress through letters from the Head Teacher and displays on the notice board. The school hopes to accrue benefits to the children’s health and fitness and intellectual awareness both during the walk and inside the classroom. This may also result in less car usage and a stronger sense of community.
